Yahoo! Europe Creates New Division to Oversee Sales and Partner Relationships

Rich Riley appointed to lead new Partner Division across Europe

LONDON, UK - 17 October 2007: Yahoo! Europe today announced the creation of a new Partner Division that will manage relationships with advertisers, agencies, resellers, publishers, ad networks, developers and other partners in Europe. Yahoo! has appointed Rich Riley, currently Senior Vice President, Online Channel Division at Yahoo! in the United States, to lead the new European organisation starting on January 1, 2008.

The Partner Division will have direct responsibility for all of Yahoo!'s sales operations at a country and European level as well as marketing and business development activities with partners. The division will manage activity across all ad formats including search, display, video, mobile and all online marketing objectives including brand, performance and promotion. It will work directly with all customer types, from large enterprises to small online businesses and local "bricks and mortar" companies. The Partner Division will also oversee the product experience for advertisers and publishers and all monetisation efforts.

"The creation of a Partner Division in Europe will help us work more effectively with partners - advertisers, agencies, publishers and developers. They will be better able to benefit from our extensive online advertising and user expertise as we transform Yahoo! into a multi network online advertising company," said Toby Coppel, Managing Director of Yahoo! Europe. "Rich brings a wealth of experience working with both small businesses and major international partners like eBay. We look forward to working with him in Europe to continue to make Yahoo! the trusted partner of choice."

In his role as Senior Vice President, Online Channel Division, Riley was responsible for sales, marketing, support and the overall customer experience for small and medium-sized business (SMB) customers in the United States. The Online Channel Division is a leading provider of services - particularly search marketing - that help businesses succeed online. Under Riley's leadership, it has grown to more than one million paying customers, and now hosts more Internet retail sites than any other provider.

Riley brings exceptional experience in the online ad market to his new role in Europe - particularly in search marketing, display advertising, partnership and the SMB sector. He has extensive experience in business development, having negotiated hundreds of millions of dollars in strategic partnerships for Yahoo! and was one of the key architects of the partnership with eBay. Formerly, Riley was Vice President of Business Operations for the Communications Division where he was responsible for display advertising and the monetisation of properties including Yahoo! Mail.

Riley joined Yahoo! in January 1999 when Yahoo! acquired his company, Log-Me-On.com. Log-Me-On.com was an Internet software company that developed what is today the Yahoo! Toolbar.
