The Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Index is a rating system established by the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) which rates homes on a numerical scale. The lower the HERS Index, the more energy efficient the home. Ryland uses the HERS Index to provide customers a mechanism to evaluate the energy efficiently of a new Ryland Home. With the HERS Index, a previously owned home averages a score of 130, while a new home averages a score of 100. A new Ryland home is rated significantly better than both.
Ryland Homes' new HouseWorks program also makes buying new an easy decision. The program provides a quieter and cleaner environment, along with the benefit of lower utility bills, through an extensive array of features in each new Ryland home. High performance windows, state-of-the-art plumbing, tighter construction and advanced framing techniques are just a few of the distinctive elements that Ryland's HouseWorks provides, which older, previously owned homes cannot offer.
