SPOKANE, WA -- Cavanaughs Hospitality Corporation announced today that they have entered into an agreement to acquire the 142 room Westbank Holiday Inn located in Idaho Falls, Idaho and will re-flag the hotel Cavanaughs on the Falls on January 2, 1998.
With this acquisition, Cavanaughs Hospitality Corporation will own and operate more than 2,100 hotel rooms, 24 restaurants and lounges, and 109,000 plus square feet of meeting and banquet space in the Northwest. This news follows the company’s recent acquisitions of the 171-room Cavanaughs Gateway Hotel, formerly the Yakima Holiday Inn and Spokane’s 342-room Cavanaughs Ridpath Hotel, formerly the Westcoast Ridpath Hotel.

Cavanaughs on the Falls, overlooks the picturesque water falls of the Snake River. The hotel features 142 guest rooms, an outdoor pool, whirlpool and exercise facility, meeting and banquet space for 500, and the Westbank Restaurant and Lounge. The hotel was built in two phases, the first poolside building in 1963, followed by an 8 story tower built in 1974. A major renovation of the hotel guest rooms and public areas was completed in 1993 and 1994.
Cavanaughs on the Falls will participate in all current guest benefit programs, including Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air Mileage Plan and Dine Air partnerships, the Cavanaughs Cash promotion earning guests complimentary night stays, and strong corporate and leisure programs. The hotel will also now play a major role in the six-year-old Cavanaughs Cares program, where Cavanaughs Hotels throughout the chain provide more than $100,000 annually in complimentary accommodations to families of low-income patients undergoing crisis medical care.
