WestCoast Hospitality Corporation Names Bill Heaney VP of Sales

SPOKANE (May 21, 2004) -- WestCoast Hospitality Corporation announces the appointment of William J. Heaney as Vice President of Sales for the company, representing Red Lion Hotels and WestCoast Hotels in the U.S. and Canada.

"Bill Heaney comes to us with nearly three decades of experience in the hotel and travel industry," said John Taffin, Executive Vice President, Hotel Operations for WestCoast Hospitality. Mr. Taffin noted that Mr. Heaney will be responsible for developing direct sales strategies for WestCoast Hotels and Red Lion Hotels and will also coordinate the deployment of the national sales team and provide support and training to hotel sales people in the field. "I know he will be a terrific addition to our team," he said.

Mr. Heaney joins WestCoast Hospitality from Boykin Hospitality where he was Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Prior to joining Boykin in 2000, he was Vice President of Sales for Meristar Hotels and Resorts (now Interstate Hotels and Resorts). After joining American General Hospitality in 1993, he directed the company's sales and marketing efforts for a selection of properties. He assumed responsibility for the sales and marketing of a portfolio of multi-branded and independent hotel, resort and conference centers for Meristar Hotels and Resorts after the merger of American General and Capstar Hotels and Resorts in 1998.

Mr. Heaney began his travel/hospitality career as Director of Operations and Product Development for Arthurs Travel Incorporated, a Philadelphia-based division of tour operator, International Thompson Ltd., of London, England. Subsequently, he was Vice President of Marketing/Housing for charter tour operator GWV, a division of The Interface Group (producer of COMDEX); was National Director of Sales and Marketing for Wyndham Hotels and Resorts; and was Senior Vice President of Sales for Savoy Hotels and Resorts.
