The Company was incorporated in 1998 to serve as a holding company for MetroBank, National Association. Metro Bank was organized in 1987.
MetroCorp Bancshares, Inc. completed its initial public offering on December 16, 1998, at $11 per share.
MetroCorp Bancshares, Inc. currently has full service banking facilities in Houston, Dallas, San Diego, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Our strategy is to remain focused on growth in the target markets we serve, the Asian and Hispanic markets, and our niche product offering. We are focused immediately on internal growth and the improvement of operations and asset quality; however, we will selectively pursue acquisitions to enhance the growth rate.
