LYDALL ROLLS OUT ADVANCED INTERACTIVE WEBSITE ENHANCEMENTS FOR ONLINE BUSINESS

MANCHESTER, CT – October 4, 2001 – Lydall, Inc. [NYSE-LDL], announced today that Phase Two of its project to enhance the Company’s online business capabilities has been completed. The Company’s website, www.lydall.com, is now a versatile multimedia tool that functions at once as an interactive product development design tool for engineers, an online catalog for purchasers and an information source for investors.

In addition to featuring a sleek new format that’s easy to use, www.lydall.com now contains links to a suite of interactive websites tailored to meet the specialized requirements of Lydall’s customers and potential customers in each of its primary markets.

Lydall’s sites offer a range of customized interactive tools. Guided Selling Tools assist customers by analyzing specific performance requirements and recommending appropriate Lydall products; a unique File Exchange feature enables secure, two-way transmission of concept documents, performance criteria and other information; and Online Order Tracking provides instant access to up-to-the-minute order and shipment information. Sales Profile features present Lydall customers with individual ordering history “at a glance” so that they may better understand their inventory use patterns and manage costs. Online Collaboration functions facilitate the scheduling and conduct of online meetings, and a unique Bioprocessing Graphic Design Tool simplifies the design of customized bioprocessing containers by bringing it online with a “real-time” process that takes just minutes to complete.
