LookSmart Names Director of Strategic Communications; Former Portfolio Manager and Research Analyst Joins Management Team

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 25, 2000--LookSmart (Nasdaq:LOOK), a global leader in Internet search and navigation infrastructure, today announced that Berkeley Belknap, former portfolio manager and research analyst for investment advisory firm, Trainer Wortham, has joined the Company's management team as Director of Strategic Communications.

Belknap comes to LookSmart with expertise in the Internet and technology sectors garnered during her years at Trainer Wortham where she focused on analyzing valuations of Internet companies and the potential for their future growth. Belknap has appeared as a regular guest on CNNfn, providing market commentary on Internet stocks and technology issues.

At LookSmart, Belknap will lead the Company's efforts in communicating its business strategy and positioning to Wall Street, focusing on relationships with financial analysts as well as institutional and retail investors. As Director of Strategic Communications, Belknap will work closely with the Company's key executives to ensure LookSmart's goals and achievements are understood by all interested parties.

Prior to Trainer Wortham, Belknap worked for Morgan Stanley as a currency options trader in their Foreign Exchange Division, and prior to that worked in their Investment Banking Division. Belknap received a BA degree from Yale University.
