Moves up to #2 by lending $41.7 billion in fourth quarter
Shows biggest jump in satisfaction in J.D. Power and Associates study
NEW YORK, March 6, 2012 – Chase moved up in both mortgage origination and customer satisfaction rankings, according to the newest data. Chase ranked Number 2 nationally by making $41.7 billion in mortgages in the fourth quarter of 2011, up 7% from the third quarter, according to Inside Mortgage Finance's recently released rankings. For the year, Chase originated $155 billion in mortgages.
Meanwhile, Chase showed the largest improvement in satisfaction among customers buying homes or refinancing, according to the 2011 J.D. Power and Associates Primary Mortgage Origination Satisfaction StudySM. Chase ranked Number 5 in the 2011 study, up from Number 12 in 2010. The study measures customer satisfaction in four key areas: application, approval process, loan representative, closing, and contact.
"It's terrific to help more customers take advantage of historically low interest rates to buy homes and to reduce their monthly payments through refinancing," said Kevin Watters, who leads Mortgage originations for Chase. "It's especially good to know that customers are benefitting from all our efforts to make the process as quick and easy as possible."
