Conover IV has been named president of Ingersoll Rand's Security Technologies Sector, effective immediately. In addition, he has been elected senior vice president of the company. Conover previously was president of Ingersoll Rand's Trane Commercial Systems, Americas, business. He will report directly to Michael W. Lamach, president and chief operating officer.

Conover joined Trane in 1977 as a sales engineer based in Detroit, Michigan, and later became sales leader. He was promoted to district manager for Columbus/Cincinnati in 1994. In 2002 Conover was named vice president, Americas Distribution. In 2008 he was named president, Americas, for Trane Commercial Systems. Conover also leads Ingersoll Rand's sustainability strategy council.
