Erie Insurance Announces $125,000 Gift to Habitat for Humanity

Twenty-four Habitat for Humanity Affiliates Receive Home for the Holidays Grants

(Erie, Pa.) December 20, 2011 - There's something special about being home for the holidays. That's why Erie Insurance is partnering with Habitat for Humanity this holiday season, helping dreams of home ownership come true across the company's service territory.

Erie Insurance President & CEO Terry Cavanaugh announced a $125,000 collective donation to 24 Habitat for Humanity affiliates across 11 states during an employee event held at the Fortune 500 Company's headquarters.

"As an insurance provider, we understand how much having a home means to people, especially during the holiday season," said Cavanaugh. "Together with our employees and agents, we're proud to support Habitat for Humanity with funding and volunteers to help create safe housing for deserving families."

Beyond the monetary donation, ERIE Employees will be delivering over 150 holiday wreaths to Habitat homeowners in the coming weeks. Arthur Woodward, Chief Executive Officer of the Flower City Habitat for Humanity in Rochester, N.Y. and Nancy Milkowski, Executive Director of the Greater Erie Area Habitat for Humanity, in Erie, Pa. accepted ERIE's donation on behalf of all Habitat affiliates.
