(DDS: NYSE) (“Dillard’s” or the “Company”) announced today that sales for the four weeks ended August 3, 2002 were $555,578,000 compared to sales for the four weeks ended August 4, 2001 of $571,842,000. Sales decreased 3% for the four-week period on both a total and comparable store basis.
Sales for the thirteen weeks ended August 3, 2002 were $1,817,976,000 compared to sales for the thirteen weeks ended August 4, 2001 of $1,828,304,000. Sales for the period decreased 1% on a total basis. Sales in comparable stores were flat for the thirteen-week period.
Sales for the twenty-six weeks ended August 3, 2002 were $3,728,855,000 compared to sales for the twenty-six weeks ended August 4, 2001 of $3,748,613,000. Sales decreased 1% for the twenty-six-week period on both a total and comparable store basis.
