Mr. Fanning was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Thermage, Inc. on January 15, 2005 and Chairman of the Board of Directors effective as of July 31, 2006. Mr. Fanning has an extensive background in the healthcare, consumer pharmaceuticals and consumer package goods industries. Most recently, Mr. Fanning was President and Chief Executive Officer for Ocular Sciences, Inc., a $ 350 million global public company, which developed, manufactured and marketed disposable contact lenses. Under his leadership, Ocular Sciences was successfully sold to CooperVision for $1.3 billion in January 2005. Prior to joining Ocular Sciences, Mr. Fanning served in various senior executive positions for 25 years at Johnson & Johnson (J&J), one of the world's largest manufacturers of healthcare products. Mr. Fanning was President, Worldwide, of J&J's McNeil Specialty Products division. Prior to that, he served as President of Johnson & Johnson Medical, a medical device company. Mr. Fanning has also served as Managing Director of J&J Austria/Switzerland, and Vice President, Sales, of J&J's McNeil Consumer Products Division. Mr. Fanning holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Philadelphia University.
