MONTEREY, CA, May 23, 2006 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) -- Century Aluminum of Kentucky, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Century Aluminum Company (NASDAQ: CENX), announced today that employees at its Hawesville, Kentucky plant represented by the United Steelworkers have ratified a four-year collective bargaining agreement that will extend through April 1, 2010. The agreement covers approximately 600 hourly workers at the Hawesville plant.
Century owns primary aluminum capacity in the United States and Iceland, as well as an ownership stake in alumina and bauxite assets in the United States and Jamaica. Century's corporate offices are located in Monterey, California.
